A view of Gawler Place North from Rundle Mall

Gawler Place Canopy

Situated in Gawler Place North, the sleek Gawler Place Canopy provides a purpose-built location for the diverse range of pop-ups, activations and events hosted in Rundle Mall throughout the year.

The new space was christened with its first major event in 2014, hosting the launch of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant, followed by the colourful launch of the 2015 Adelaide Fringe Festival program with the Fringe Funhouse and Fringe stage.

Since its installation, the welcoming arbour of the Gawler Place Canopy has been visited for activations by major brands such as McDonald's, RAA ad Nova 919, as well as pop-ups for Vogue Festival and Tasting Australia associated events. When it's not housing activations or events, the Gawler Place Canopy provides a relaxing refuge for visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of the Mall.

The fountain has had many homes since it was first cast in the late 1880s and currently resides adjacent to the entrance of Adelaide Arcade.
